Fox Follow-up. More Media Problems.

May 14, 2007 / by ekyprogressive

Recently I gave a post discussing the Fact that Fox News is Propaganda created and run by former Republican donors and strategists. The consolidation of our media among a handful of organizations is detrimental not only do our democracy but to neighbors in our world. Here are a couple quick additional videos on the topic that I found. For more information on some of the documented inaccuracies by Fox and other mainstream news organizations, check out this website to see some of our current media personalities.

More stuff as I find it. Peace.

I remember the days when reporters reported the news not the latest what's up with a celebrity--news, whether conservative or liberal, is now entertainment--why show dead soldiers returning from Iraq when you can show what's her names sexual parts.
Would a Watergate even be reported today????[MAD][SAD][THUMBDOWN]

light-hearted news has its place though having Paris locked up for a bit is great news
  • ekyprogressive said 1 years ago
I doubt it would be reported, to me this president is worse than Nixon ever dreamed.

why do I have to cringe before coming to you cite? Of course right wingers will contribute to Fox as will lefties contribute to CNN . BTW why is Fox, if so full of lies your number one news network down there? Why do i here democrati polticians say that it sets the agenda.

You cringe because truth is painful my friend, painful for me to find and you to read. CNN is by far innocent, none of the corporate media has clean hands. If truth is what, you have to dig beyond them. Why is it number one, GOOD QUESTION. I Never watch fox, except for a quick chuckle or if I need my intelligence insulted.[LOL]

no friend I cringe because you spew out stuff that you expect everyone to jsut agree with you on. You are not keen on debate and jsut assume you are right. SO here I go again as I ahve on other blog sites. Lets see examples of Fox being unintelligent(I dont get the channel have to pay extra in Canada but the website has the same stories as cnn)
  • ekyprogressive said 1 years ago
I've said before you can agree or not. I will find the stories, place the links and videos and you can decide how you feel. You are right I am not keen on debate, I find myself getting far to emotional about it, but I do believe what I put here, If I question it I will say so. I am not going to try and drain myself to convince others anymore than I do in the posts I place and the contents they contain. So you don't get fox, haven't watched fox, but disagree with my positon that they are biased though...Doesn't that make it a little difficult to defend them as strongly as you do? I never said CNN wasn't biased, but I don't think this one is left and this one is right politically, I think they are all Biased toward specific donor corporations and their interests. Fox just happens to be leaning into the Republican party itself rather than corporations, which makes it more politically biased. But as that second vid. describes, GE which owns NBC causes NBC to not discuss issues which would reflect poorly on GE.
To find truth, credible sources outside cable should be searched for, and more than one reference (both independent of each other) should be obtained to feel the data is accurate. I Use Newsgator to help me get a variety of news sources and you can add to it, even blogster articles can be put there (its RSS, free, easy to use). As I said, just my opinion and way of doing things.[WINK][SMILE]

And everyone spouts stuff on their blogs, especially on blogster. Not everyone puts their sources or articles (or as many as I have in a single post) up so that their data can be examined and critiqued. I figure that is why so many keep coming back. Perhaps yourself included..[WINK][TONGUE][SMILE]

so iwe are just picking on Fox because its right wing thhen ok good we got you to admit to it
  • ekyprogressive said 1 years ago
because it is politically biased, thus having an agenda to tell news to influence people to vote or support specific candidates by telling or not telling specific good or bad information. You don't find that damaging to a democracy or the ability of its citizens to make accurate and informed judgements about political issues? Where CNN or NBC works to support is corporate donors, Fox does so with its political agenda. To me that is worse, Yes. And worth calling them out on. Isn't the maintenance of the democracy the important thing?
  • subversives said 1 years ago
If the agenda is understood it is very easy to see the news cast for what it is . The Clinton News Network is the same way.

[THUMBDOWN] Fox News gives "news coverage" a bad name.

Well, we sometimes watch FOX so I didn't need to look at these clips. They have some really scattered reporters.... well, the ones that we've seen. I guess some of the networks are kind of scattered, too, sometimes. But, the worst part of it all is that if you don't agree enough with the administration, you're soon out of a job!! The only time I am on Fox is for House or American Idol. Otherwise I refuse to contribute to their ratings.[WINK][SMILE]

I agree with greatmartin, its hard to have a debate over whether or not reporting on a drunk Hasslehoff is liberal or conservative. I put the tv on a "news" channel the other day and started on a project, being too lazy to get up and change the channel I ended up listening to an hour long report on the life of Britney Spears. There is so much about the world I could have learned from a "news" channel in an hour, but instead I now know how well Brintey Spears was treated during her brief stay in rehab.
  • ekyprogressive said 1 years ago
I am so sick of Celeberty stories, It is why I hardly ever watch it. I think they cover that crap in order to avoid showing the real stories which would make most Americans upset at the administration or the corporations which fuel some of their decisions.
